Domestic trends are often overlooked in analyses of foreign policy, but in recent years they have been impossible to ignore. Brexit, America First, and the rise of populism have highlighted the need for a greater understanding of the domestic determinants of foreign policymaking, particularly in the United States and Europe. Daniel Hamilton will discuss his new book, which examines how political turbulence on both sides of the Atlantic is transferring into the international arena, and how this might shape diplomacy and global security in the years ahead.
